Begabtenförderung berufliche Bildung
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supports particularly talented graduates of dual vocational training through the program ‘Begabtenförderung berufliche Bildung’. It is aimed at young professionals who have completed their training with good performance and wish to further qualify themselves professionally. The scholarship supports advanced training courses, language courses, or part-time degree programs. The maximum funding is 8,700 euros, spread over three years.
Weiterbildungsstipendium
The Weiterbildungsstipendium is also a program of the BMBF and is aimed at trainees who wish to further their education after an initial vocational training. It supports both traditional further education and part-time degree programs. In addition to financial grants for further training courses, there is a bonus for successful completion.
Aufstiegsstipendium
The Aufstiegsstipendium supports experienced professionals who wish to take up a degree program. It supports not only tuition fees but also living expenses. Both full-time and part-time programs are funded. A prerequisite is at least two years of professional experience and proof of special commitment.
Stipendien von Stiftungen
Numerous private foundations offer scholarship programs to support apprentices and professionals in further training. Examples include the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung or the Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft, which offer financial assistance as well as non-material support such as networks and mentoring programs.
Unternehmensstipendien
Many companies offer internal scholarship programs to promote qualified professionals. These are often aimed at trainees who wish to stay with the company after graduation. In addition to financial support, scholarship holders often benefit from company-specific training and further education opportunities.
Kammer- und Branchenstipendien
Professional associations and chambers, such as the chambers of crafts or industry and commerce, also offer scholarship programs in cooperation with companies and foundations. These are aimed at apprentices and professionals in certain industries and aim to promote the next generation of skilled workers.
Europäische Förderprogramme
Through European programs like Erasmus+, apprentices can go abroad during their vocational training and gain international experience. These programs offer both financial support for the stay abroad and help with organization.
